Paris, France

Paris is by far my favorite city. It sounds so cliché to say so and I was quite ready to hate it until I arrived at the Gare de Lyon. I remember it was late at night and it was pouring out, but there was something simply magical about this scene. It's like taking a trip into an old book like La Dame au Camelia or even Le bonheur des dames.

We stayed in an appartment in the 15th borough from which we could see the top of the Eiffel Tower. We had a little balcony in metal to which you had to climb out the window to access and a little wine shop in front of the apartment. The reason I fell in love with Paris was definitely because of how everything just seemed to fit. The architecture, the peope and the wonderful food. Talk about the pasteries. They were simply amazing.

Paris puts you in a mood. It makes you want to sing Frank Sinatra every single day while singing in the rain and dancing in the middle of the street. It makes you want to take a stroll hand in hand with your lover until dawn. Even the metro has a lightness to it. Every metro has something wonderful for you to visit. However, the metro is a little difficult to navigate and I would suggest carrying a map of the metro with you at all times just in case. If you do happen to get lost in Paris, it can only make your discoveries richer in memory so do not panick.

If I had one recommendation to make about Paris is to come prepared. I would suggest having one or two days of strolling around and getting lost in neighbourhoods and the rest to plan what you most want to see. It is absolutely impossible to visit everything in a week so definitely plan staying up to a week.
